Kent - Susan C. Fogaras, 83, of Kent, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service in Akron. Mrs. Fogaras was born November 20, 1924 in Springfield, a daughter of Jacob & Sophie Woloszyn Maxgay. She was a 1942 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and was a WWII Navy Veterann, receiving the Victory Ribbon. Mrs. Fogaras worked as a stenographer for the History Department at Youngstown State University for over 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church and loved to volunteer with the Coleman Foundation in Kent. She loved crafts, sewing, antiquing, gardening and loved to read books and visit the library. Her husband, George Fogarasn, whom she married June 28, 1947, died Feburary 22, 2007. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Charles) Burkey of Pulaski and Suzanne (Nelson) Burns of Kent; three grandchildren, Daniel Burns, Matthew Burns and Melissa Burkey; and one sister, Rose Shevetz of Campbell. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Anna Dzuirdz, Mary Kozlowski, Pauline Mazias, Katherine Lyda, and Josephine Mayzik; and four brothers, John, Anthony, Frank and Francis Maxgay. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church with Fr. David J. Shortt officiating. Prayers will be offered Monday at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and Monday from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
