Steven E. Frank, M.D., 55
YOUNGSTOWN - Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Poland for Steven E. Frank, M.D., 55. He passed away Wednesday evening at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Frank was born Oct. 30, 1958, in Louisville, a son of Eugene O. and Mary Lou Krynock Frank.
He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1976 and received his Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University and his medical degree from Wright State University. He was an emergency doctor at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Surviving him are his parents, Eugene and Mary Lou of Louisville; his wife, the former Shelley DeStefano, whom he married Nov. 11, 2011; his daughters, Miranda Frank of Cleveland and Brenna Frank of Lebanon and their mother, Jamie; three stepchildren, Kristin Edwards of McDonald, Lauren Iaderosa of Youngstown, and Marissa Iaderosa of Boardman; sisters, Sue (David) of McKibben of Uniontown and Cynthia (Reed) Shaldiner of Philadelphia; also, a step grandchild, Addison Andrews; and a cousin, Don Frank.
Both his daughters followed in his footsteps, Miranda by graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Engineering and Brenna pursued a nursing degree from Duquesene University.
Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home.
His mother wrote this about Steve: "A very gentle and caring person, he was loved by everyone that ever met him. He was a remarkable doctor who touched many lives. His leadership, compassion and dedication to his family, his patients and his coworkers is what made him such a beloved man. May he continue with healing hands as he watches over all of us from Heaven."
His wife said, "she had found her soulmate, they truly were meant for each other."
Kirk Ray, CEO of Northside said this after a moment of silence, "He had been our faithful servant since 1990, working at Southside, Northside, Beeghley and Trumbull. In that time span, he had seen close to 100,000 patients, enough to fill a big college football stadium! Strong, hardworking, good mid-western values, not a complainer."
