Lowellville - Steve Husak, 84, of Lowellville, died Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman.
Steve, affectionately known as Lefty, was born January 30, 1927 in Campbell, a son of Steve and Mary Husak. He was raised in Campbell and moved to Lowellville in 1965.
Lefty attended Campbell Memorial High School and was a truck driver for Roads & Bloom Bros. and then for Feldman Bros., both of Youngstown.
Lefty enjoyed sports. He was a bowler, serving on various leagues, played baseball for the Hillcrest Tavern and bocce at Mount Carmel. He enjoyed watching sports and Family Feud on TV.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville.
Lefty leaves his wife, the former Mary Louise Churan, of 57 years, whom he married April 24, 1954; two daughters, Mary Ann Ball and Dorothy Husak; one sister Ann Vinkler; and his little friend Tiny.
Besides his parents, Lefty was preceded in death by two sisters, Kay Brozman and Mary Calabrette; one brother, Mike Husak; and three step-brothers, Andy, John, and Frank Sarachman
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 10:00 am at the Holy Rosary Church with Fr. Nicholas Shori officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Lowellville.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville.
