Stephen Evanson

Stephen Evanson, 77 Lowellville- Stephen Evanson, 77, of 810 W. Wood Street, died suddenly Sunday evening at his residence. Mr. Evanson was born December 25, 1925 in Struthers, a son of Mike and Julia Vlosich Evankovich. He lived in Struthers his entire life until moving to Lowellville two years ago. He was a 1944 graduate of Struthers High School and served in the United State Navy, aboard ship in the South Pacific during World War II from August 1944 until May 1946. He was President and co-owner of Mahoning & Trumbull Title Information Inc. having been in business since 1965 and retired June 15, 1998. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Struthers, a former member of the Ohio Land Title Association and Struthers Business Association. His wife the former Margaret Mary Guilinger, whom he married May 18, 1957 died August 9, 1996. He leaves one daughter, Peg (Glen) Speirs of Reading, Pennsylvania; two sons, Michael (Margaret) Evanson and Stephen (Rebecca) Evanson, Jr., both of Struthers and three grandchildren, Jessica, James and Desiree Evanson. Besides his parents and wife, two half- brothers, Joseph and Mike Carr and one brother, John Evankovich preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 9:30 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Friends may call Today from 6-9 PM at the Funeral Home.
