Poland - Stella Rose McLean, 76, of East Western Reserve Road, Poland, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman.
Mrs. McLean was born November 21, 1932 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of Frank and Elvira Caiazza Merlino.
She was a member of St. Dominic Church. Mrs. McLean was a talented artist and sculptor, and won numerous awards for her artwork. She was a devoted housewife, she loved decorating, fashion, and loved shopping, especially at T.J. Maxx. She loved spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Nicky, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Robert M. McLean, whom she married March 15, 1969, one son, Robert F. McLean, of Aliquippa, PA, two step daughters, Christine Valdez, of Cypress, CA, and Shari Brewer, of Troy, one sister, Marie Merlino of New Castle, PA, and three grandsons, Parker and Noah Anderson, of Aliquippa, PA, and Raymond Valdez, of Cypress, CA.
Besides her parents, she was proceeded in death by four sisters, Constance Domenick, Linda Maciarello, Josephine Relo, and Susan Creaturo, and two brothers, Nicholas Merlino and Guy Merlino.
Family and friends will be received from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44507, where memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Regis Heuschkel officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville.
