Stanley Young, Jr., 83 Poland- Stanley Young Jr., 83, of Poland, died Tuesday morning at his residence. Stanley better known as Stan, was born May 21, 1923 in Dilltown, Pennsylvania, a son of Stanley Sr., and Ethel Miller Young. He was raised in Canfield and came to Poland in 1956. He was a 1941 graduate of Canfield High School and was a carpenter by trade his entire life and was a member of Local Union #171. From 1942 until 1945 he served in World War II with the United States Marine Corp., in the South Pacific. An avid sportsman, Stan loved basketball and bowling. He enjoyed reading, especially Westerns. Stan loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. Until recently he spent his summers with his wife hunting and fishing in Bozman, Montana, and he also traveled to Alaska for salmon fishing. He is survived by his wife, the former Felicia âa�A"Juneâa�A� Zapor whom he married November 30, 1943. He leaves a daughter Jenny (Ed) Jeffries of Poland; three sons, Richard (Kathy) Young of Poland, Ronald (Kathy) Young of Bozman, Montana, and Robert (Kathy) Young of New Springfield; one sister, Nancy Pittman of Venice, Florida; two brothers, Doyle Young of San Jose, California and Richard Young of Canfield; four grandchildren, Michael Young, Jeffery Young, Justin Jeffries and Alyson Young; and three great-grandchildren, Cortney, Kelsey and Rihonna Young. Funeral services will be Friday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Friday from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
