Campbell âa�" SSG Richard John Sikora, 41, of Campbell, died Tuesday morning as a result of a house fire. Mr. Sikora, also known as Ricky, was born November 22, 1966 in Youngstown, a son of John R. and Patricia Zupko Sikora. He was raised in Struthers and moved to Campbell last year. He was a 1985 graduate of Struthers High School, and was a three year starter and three year letterman for the Struthers football team. He also played for the Little Hardhats. In 1985, Ricky enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1989 as a Staff Sergeant. Upon returning to the area he attended Youngstown State University and enlisted in the Army National Guard. He served in Afghanistan and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Ricky served as Staff Sergeant in the National Guard where he also worked as a maintenance technician. While attending Youngstown State University, Ricky worked at Gino's Drive Thru. He also worked in construction for Labor Union Local No.125. Ricky was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer. He was a member of Knoll Run Golf course and Elmton Golf League. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. He loved his nieces and nephews and especially enjoyed spending time with them, entertaining them, and attending his nieces and nephews sports events. Besides his parents of Poland, Ricky leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Michael "Mickey" and Sharon Sikora of Hubbard; a sister-in-law, Susie Schneider of Canfield; his nieces and nephews, Alyssa and John Sikora and Hannah and Dougie Schneider. Besides his grandparents, John and Mary Sikora and Andy and Mary Zupko, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, John Schneider. Funeral services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Kevin Peters officiating.
