Shirley Stamateris, 74 Poland- Shirley Stamateris,74, died Monday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mrs. Stamateris was born December 7, 1931 in Long Branch, N.J. a daughter of Anthony and Anne Levine Dâa�a��Appolito. She moved to the area in 2003 having resided in New Jersey her whole life. She was a homemaker and had graduated from Douglas College in New Jersey. She was active in her church, volunteer at the school library, and was a member of the Historical Society in Florham Park,NJ. She leaves her husband, Nick, whom she married June 13,1954; three sons, John (Eileen) of Poland, Harry(Bette) of Basking Ridge,NJ, and Matthew (Annemarie) of Bloomfield, NJ; her mother, Anne Dâa�a��Appolito of Morris Plains, NJ; a brother, Joseph (Ligia) of Wolfeboro, NH; five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Anthony Dâa�a��Appolito; and a sister, Ruth Anne Dâa�a��Appolito. A prayer service will be Wednesday 4PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
