Youngstown - Shirley Snyder, 72, of Dearborn Street, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Hospice House. Mrs. Snyder was born September 6, 1935 in Smiths Ferry, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Charles and Valley Smith Cumberledge. She worked as a waitress for many years and was a member of the American Legion in Girard. Mrs. Snyder loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She is survived by four daughters, Jeannette (Daniel) Waxler, Cheryl (Michael) Stiffler, Julie (Joe) Bommarito, Tami Ballas; a son, Robert F. Ballas Jr.; a brother, Richard (Cheryl) Cumberledge; three grandchildren, Christopher (Cathy) Waxler, Tracie (Michael) Kennedy, and Joshua Ballas; and two great-grandchildren, Casey Waxler and Reilly Kennedy. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brian Ballas; and her children's father, Robert F. Ballas, Sr. There will be no services or calling hours.
