Poland - Shirley Joyce Grischow, 74, of Poland, died Monday evening at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House. Mrs. Grischow was born December 16, 1932 in Duncanville, Texas, a daughter of Horace and Lucille Hill Stephens. She was raised in Duncanville and came to this area in 1965. She and her husband William resided in Pinellas Park, Florida for 20 years until returning to this area in 2006. She worked as membership secretary for the YWCA. She was a member of the Gardengate Garden Club and president of the Women's Club, both in Pinellas Park, FL. An avid golfer, Mrs. Grischow was a member of various golf leagues in both Ohio and Florida. Mrs. Grischow was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Youngstown. She is survived by her husband, William Grischow whom she married June 21, 1975; two daughters, Donna (Daniel) Maxon of Salem, OH, and Dianna (Armando) Loera Chavez of Cuernavaca, Mexico; two sons, Stephen (Emily) Daniel of South Hampton, NY and D. David (Regina) Daniel of Pickerington, Ohio; five step-sons, Ronald (Rebecca) Grischow of West Salem, OH, Tom (Lynne) Grischow of Lowellville, OH, Donald (Deborah) Grischow of Dallas, TX, William (Patricia) Grischow of Canton, OH, and Gregory (Maria) Grischow of Struthers, OH,; nineteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kenneth Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Belmont Park Cemetery. Friends will be received Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and Friday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM in church.
