Sherry Lynn (Groner) Flaherty

Struthers - Sherry Lynn Flaherty, 51, died of complications due to diabetes, Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Born December 21, 1965 in Youngstown, Sherry was a daughter of Fred and Rosemary McShane Groner.

A life-long resident of Struthers, Sherry was a 1984 graduate of Struthers High School. She worked as a kitchen manager for Inner Circle Pizza in Poland and was a homemaker. Sherry was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman. In her free time, Sherry enjoyed shopping, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

Sherry leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Fred of Struthers; her husband, Michael Flaherty, whom she married October 12, 1991; two sons, Mike Flaherty at home and Eric (Danielle) Flaherty of Poland; three brothers, Harry (Vicki) Groner of Poland, Henry (Kathy) Franceschelli and James (Lisa) Franceschelli all of Struthers; two brothers-in-law, George Jones of Austintown and Jim (Jennie) Flaherty of Struthers; one sister-in-law, Maggie (Bruce) Streb of Boardman; one granddaughter, Cheyenne of Poland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary Groner; sister, Linda Jones; and father and mother-in-law, James and Enid Flaherty.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor Robert Quaintance officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
