LOWELVILLE - Sarah Bova, 86, died Aug. 16, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mrs. Bova was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Cirella, Italy, a daughter of Guiseppe and Rosa Agostino Romeo.Sarah came over to America when she was 8 years old.
She was a graduate of Bessemer High School. Sarah worked for over 20 years at Carbon Limestone and was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville. Sarah enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, and cooking.
Her husband, Carmelo Bova Sr., whom she married in 1955, died in 1999.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann (Sal) Sanders of North Jackson; three sons, Rocco (Michelle) Bova of Poland, Carmelo Bova Jr. of Poland, and Patsy Bova of Berlin Center; and four grandchildren, Nick Sanders, Daniela (Paul) Rogers, Ellie Sanders, and Tristan Bova.
Besides her parents and husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her son Joseph, three brothers, Patsy, Guiseppe, and Rocco Romeo; and one sister, Filomena Agostino.
Friends and family will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St. in Poland.
A prayer service will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville, Pa.
