Sara Jane Murphy

Sara Jane Murphy, 78 BOARDMAN- Sara Jane Murphy, 78, of 7735-B Crimson Trail died Monday evening at her residence. She was born May 31, 1924 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Mary Grinnen Fye, and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Murphy was a 1942 graduate of South High School. She attended Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelorâa�a��s in Education from Youngstown College. Sara was a teacher at both Poland Union and Poland North Elementary Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Poland United Methodist Church. She leaves her husband, Patrick, whom she married October 26, 1950; three daughters, Patricia (Greg) Kane of St. Charles, IL; Wendy (Jim) Omdahl of Bethlehem, PA; and Barbara (Frank) Coster of Oakville, Ontario; one son, Michael Murphy of Houston, TX; and eight grandchildren, Jeremy Murphy, Mark Kane, Tim Kane. Rachel Omdahl, Erin Kane, and Patrick, Heather, and Emily Coster. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Fye. Funeral Services will be Friday 11 AM at the Poland United Methodist Church. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and Friday 10:00-10:45 at the church. Memorial tributes may be given to the Hospice of the Valley, Juvenile Diabetes, or the Poland United Methodist Church.
