Poland - Sandra H. Smith, 72, died April 22, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mrs. Smith was born July 8, 1940 in Youngstown, a daughter of Clarke and Agnes Flynn Hetrick Jr.

She was a 1957 graduate of Hubbard High School and attended Miami University of Ohio. Mrs. Smith previously worked as a sales clerk at C. Clarke & Company for 10 years and was a homemaker.

Sandra was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland and its Ladies Circle, and was a member and served as past president for both the Poland Women's Club and Poland Village Gardeners. She was also a member and past president of the Youngstown Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America, the Collectors Society of the Western Reserve, the Mohawk Ladies Golf League, and the Reserve Run Golf League. Mrs. Smith was a former Girl Scout Leader, needlework teacher and served as a Mahoning County Poll Worker.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Ernest Smith Jr., whom she married August 22, 1959; three daughters, Naudine Best, Lisa (Ken) Conzett, both of Poland, and Candy (Dan) Greene of Columbiana; son, Thaddeus (Kiesha) Smith of Canfield; and eight grandchildren, Royce (Katie) Best of Knoxville, TN, Cassandra Best of Poland, Callista (Ryan) Dammann of Hillard, Shayna Conzett of Edenton, NC, Chelsea Conzett, Chandra Conzett, both of Poland, and Jarret Greene and Tanner Greene, both of Columbiana.

A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mrs. Smith's name to the American Lung Association, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd., No. 260, Independence, OH 44131.
