Sally Lou Aey 85, passed away peacefully with family by her side, Saturday morning, April 27, 2024.
Sally was born June 12, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio, to John C. and Ella Mae Ludt.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ferdinand P. Aey, to whom she was married for 64 years.
Sally was a 1956 graduate of Poland Seminary High School.
Sally spent 35 years driving school bus for Boardman School District and was the owner-operator of “Hide A Way Ceramics.”
Sally was a distinctive person with a special personality. This unique connection allowed her to excel in any community she elected to be a part of. She was very passionate and active in politics and served on the Poland Village Council and as a State Central Committee Women.
She had a great talent for the arts and was very creative. She took pleasure in decorating her home for every holiday. Christmas was her favorite. Her vibrant displays were recognized by many news networks over the years.
Family was everything to Sally. She was the heart of the family. A loving matriarch who nurtured traditions and created enduring bonds that will live on as a testament to her profound involvement and care within the family. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Treasure Lake every year.
Sally’s loving personality reached far beyond her immediate family. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She had a devoted ability to lend a hand to anyone who crossed her path, embodying a true sense of generosity. Whether it was a listening ear, a comforting presence, or a pot of spaghetti, she was there to support those in need. Her willingness to assist others was reflected in her kind and compassionate nature.
Sally is survived by her six children, Edward (Denise), Fred (Joseph), David (Diedra), Rodney, Scott (Barbara), and Suzanne (Craig) Tyler; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Timothy (Patricia) Ludt and David (Sharon) Ludt sisters-in-law, Donna Maytas, Nancy Aey, and Maureen Warner; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Carol) Aey and Michael (Linda) Aey.
Besides her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brother, John C. Ludt Jr. and sister, Susanne L. Ewald.
Per Sally’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
