Lowellville - Ruthanne Therese Schall, 70, of Lowellville, died Tuesday morning, May 30, 2017 at her residence.
Ruthanne was born June 9, 1946 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Ruth Macara Bonace. She was raised in what was then known as Lowellville, PA., now known as Edinburg.
A 1964 graduate of Mohawk Junior Senior High School, Ruthanne attended YSU pursuing a degree in Ancient History. After three years at YSU Ruthanne decided to make a career change and study nursing. She enrolled at Choffin Career Center where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Northside, Southside and St. Elizabeth Hospitals before moving to Waverly, Ohio where she worked at various places. After 30 years she returned to the area and resumed her career at The Greenbriar and later Assumption Nursing Home.
While at YSU Ruthanne discovered her love for swimming, she was a voracious reader, enjoyed the arts, and antiquing. She also loved traveling and made many memories with her husband on trips to Niagera Falls, Bar Harbor, Maine, Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, Fl.
Ruthanne leaves her husband, Robert Schall, Sr., whom she married August 23, 2015; one daughter, Lisa Lonardo of Chillicothe, OH; one son, Dominic Lonardo of Waverly, OH; one stepdaughter, Tammy Jo Horner of Struthers; one stepson, Robert Schall, Jr. of Youngstown; one brother, John (Kathy) Bonace of Lowellville, OH; and two grandsons, Vincent and Gavin.
In addition to her parents, Ruthanne was preceded in death by her son, John Lonardo.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Fr. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Lowellville.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
