Ruth E. Whittle

Ruth E. Whittle, 86, of Boardman died Sunday December 25, 2017 at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born August 23, 1931 in Struthers, Ohio, a daughter of William and Mabel Baughman Bell and lived over seventy years in Struthers.
She was a graduate of Struthers High School and had worked as a payroll clerk for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and Bingo.
Her husband, C. Gene Whittle, whom she married July 11, 1953 died in 2002.
She leaves her daughter, Carol Christoff of Boardman; two sons, Dr. Robert (Pat) Whittle in North Carolina, and Ronald G. Whittle (Bill Frye) in Florida; two sisters, Mary Grossen of New Waterford, Ohio, and Jean Hammer in Florida; five grandchildren, Christy, Carrie, Robert Jr., Minta, and Meribeth, She also leaves eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Williams, and four brothers, Ray, Earl, Harold, and Alvin Bell.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday December 29, 2017 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Friends may call from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
