Struthers - Ruth A. Green passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at Austinwoods Nursing Home. She was 74. Ruth was born in the springtime, on April 18, 1933; the eldest daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Conner Miller. She was a lifelong area resident. As a young adult she worked at the legendary Isaly Dairy in Youngstown, and had a longtime love for camping. Ruth also enjoyed word search puzzles and her day could always be brightened by playing scratch-off bingo. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Zell, who died on August 26, 1971. Her second husband, Ed Green, whom she married August 29, 1978 died August 18, 2000. She leaves her daughter, Elizabeth (Craig) Petrie of Plainfield, IL: three sisters, Dorothy (Salvatore) Vecchione of Austintown, Mary Lou Stover of Simi Valley, CA., and Rita (John) Soles of Hubbard; one brother, William (Alice) Miller of Plainville, CT; two grandchildren, Tricia Avers-Grace and Kristy McFarland; and three great-grandsons, Richard Avers, Caleb McFarland, and Cassidy Stumreiter. Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Ronald Zell, and her twin brother, Paul Miller. Services will be held Friday, 3:00 pm, at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Friends may call on Friday, from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent at
