Roy A. Shane, 86 Boardman-Roy A. Shane of 262 Meadowbrook died Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. Shane was born in Youngstown August 20, 1917, a son of Harry A. and Lula Mae Yeager Shane. He lived in the area for most of his life. He graduated from Boardman High School, Brigham Young University with a B.S. Degree in Geology. He was an Industrial Engineer at LTV for 18 years until their closing. He was a Geologist in Provo, Utah for 15 years and also taught at Youngstown State University and the School for Gifted for one year. He was a member of the New Middletown Farmers and Sportsman Club, National Rifle Association, the VFW, I.R.L.A . , and Sigma Epsilon. Mr. Shane was a veteran of the United States Air Corp during WW II, where he received a Good Conduct Medal, Defense Service Medal, AM Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, and a European African Mid Eastern Service Medal With 2 Bronze States. Mr. Shane was a member of the of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. His wife the former, Wilma âa�A"Willieâa�A� Martin, whom he married January 27, 1946, died December 9, 1991. He leaves two daughters, Kerry Johnson of W. Jordan, Utah and Shane(Gordon) Marshall of Key Largo, Florida,; two sons, Gary (Claudia) Shane of Clarkfork,Idaho and Dean Shane of Youngstown; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday 9 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
