Rose J. Wildes, 78 Struthers- Rose J. Wildes, 78, of 101 Wilson Street, died Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mrs. Wildes was born March 1, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Jaffett and Rose Elias Abbas. She came to Struthers in 1950. During World War II, Mrs. Wildes was one of the original Rosie the Riveter, working for Truscon Steel and McKenzie Muffler. Rosie immensely enjoyed listening to the big bands of that era and doing the jitterbug of which she did very well. She was a former member of St. Maron Church. She had a generous heart and will be sadly missed by her family. Besides her husband Fred Wildes whom she married November 18, 1950, she leaves three daughters, Patricia (Butch) Haefke and Jackie Tate all of Austintown, and Rebecca (Kenny) Hickman of Youngstown; two sons, Edward (Mary) Wildes and Frederick (Mary) Wildes all of Struthers; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, one son, David Wildes, a sister, Mary Suskey and brother Edward Abbas preceded her in death. Private services were held today at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
