North Lima - Rose Perry, 101, of North Lima, formerly of Struthers, died early Thursday morning, November 27, 2014 at the Inn at Glenellen.
Rose was born January 24, 1913 in Thomas, W.Va., a daughter of James and Josephine Spadaro Paris. As a small child, Rose and her family moved to Struthers.
A 1930 graduate of Struthers High School, Rose was employed at the former Struthers Pharmacy and Meine's Florist in Struthers. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker. She loved taking care of her husband and raising her children. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening. Rose was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers.
Her husband of 55 years, Anthony S. Perry, whom she married June 11, 1934, died February 22, 1989. She leaves one daughter, Marijo (Louis) Jannetto of Pittsburgh, PA; one son, Raymond (Patty) Perry of Villa Park, CA; two sisters, Helen Flauto of Poland and Sister Gertrude Paris OSU of Columbiana; nine grandchildren, Marianne (Jeffrey) Johnson, Michael (Jill) Abdoo, Luanne (Kevin) Alford, Leah (Peter) Kozak, Nicholas (Denise) Jannetto, Regina Perry, Lisa (Thomas) Gerner, Brian (Holly) Perry, and Brett (Kristin) Perry; fifteen great-grandchildren, Jacob Perry, Noah Perry, Corey (Ava) Bolka, Austin Keck, Hunter Keck, Cullen Kozak, Julia Jannetto, Olivia Jannetto, Sophia Jannetto, Mia Morgan, Lindsay Gerner, Zachary Gerner, Ryan Perry, Emily Perry, Kylie Perry; great-great granddaughters, Audrina and Charleigh Bolka; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her son, Anthony J. Perry; and two brothers, Joseph and Paul Paris.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland.
A prayer service will be conducted Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Bernard Gaeta officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Lowellville.
