Ronald Glenn Stallsmith

June 4, 1936 — August 13, 2016

Canfield - Ronald Glenn Stallsmith, 80, went Home to live with the Lord, on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. He was born June 4, 1936 in Meadville, PA, to the late George and Madge Martin Stallsmith.

He was a graduate of Commodore Perry High School in Pennsylvania and attended John Carroll University and Grove City College where he studied Transportation. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Army from 1959-1961. Ronnie was employed as the Assistant Train Master and retired as Chief Train Dispatcher for Conrail in 1998 following 44 years of employment. He attended Boardman Baptist Church and Greenford Christian Church and was a member of the Canfield Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, reading and was a history buff. Ronnie was an avid sports fan and loved his Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need. Ronnie will be deeply missed by his beloved wife and family and his friends who also loved him dearly.

He leaves his loving wife, Jo Ann Stallsmith, whom he married in 1971; his children, Ronald Glenn (Nadyne) Stallsmith Jr. of New Middletown, Brent Paul Stallsmith of Cornersburg and Erika Rae (Paul) Freedy of Canfield; three grandchildren, Garrett Stallsmith, A.J. Stallsmith and Hailey Rae Freedy; three brothers, Roger Stallsmith of Meadville, PA, Edwin (Linda) Stallsmith of Meadville and Gerald (Monica) Stallsmith of Ravenna; and his sister, Marilyn Stallsmith of Saxonburg, PA.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11am at the Boardman Baptist Church, 1207 Shields Rd. Youngstown, OH 44511 with Pastor Dennis Massie officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11am on Saturday at the church.
