Boardman - Roger Lewis Tower, 80, of Boardman, died Sunday, September 30, in Select Specialty of St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Tower was born October 19, 1926 in Youngstown, a son of Harold and Martha Lewis Tower. He lived in the area most of his life until retiring in Sun City Center, Florida. He returned to this area in 2004. A 1945 graduate of Boardman High School, Mr. Tower received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Kent State University. He was an Industrial Engineer and retired as supervisor for Jones and Laughlin Steel Company after 31 years. In Florida, Mr. Tower was a realtor for Prudential Reality. Mr. Tower was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Four Square Club, the Poland Masonic Lodge F&AM #766, and the Tampa Shrine Club. Mr. Tower was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church. Besides his wife, the former Ruth Eleanor Fleming, whom he married February 20, 1953, he leaves a son, R. Keith Tower of Canfield; a daughter, Lynn (John) Nelson of Great Falls, VA; four grandchildren, Katrina, Samantha, Abrianna and Caelah; and one great-grandchild, Blake. Mr. Tower was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be Thursday, 11:00 A.M. at the Poland United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Grant officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield. Friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, and Thursday from 10-10:45 A.M. in church. The Four Square Club will have a service Wednesday at 8 P.M.
