Roberta Azara, 80, died July 30, 2018 at Beeghly Oaks. Mrs. Azara was born December 7, 1937 in Youngstown, OH, daughter of Cyril and Gladys (Turkle) Ruppert.
She was a 1955 East High School graduate. Roberta worked at various jobs including Arby's, Value King, and Stambaugh Thompson. In her later years she was a interpreter for the deaf at the Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center. She loved watching baseball and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Roberta also loved various kinds of music.
Some of her favorite past-times were listening to music in the park and sitting outside in the sun.
She was a hard worker all her life, but her children always came first.
She was very fun loving and liked to joke around especially with the aides at Beeghly.
Roberta made many friends at Beeghly the short time she was there.
Her best accomplishment was just being a mom.
She is survived by one daughter, Lianne (Tom) Benzenhoefer of Poland; one son, Philip Azara of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Julie (Mason) Balestra of Youngstown; numerous nieces and nephews especially Steve, Mike, and Alisa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip, whom she married June 1, 1957 and both of her parents.
A private service will be held at Lake Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
The family would like to thank the aides and staff at Beeghly Oaks and to Hospice Allcare for taking care of Roberta.
