ROBERT JOHN ZELINKA, 70
Robert John Zelinka (Bob), 70, of New Middletown, formerly of Struthers, passed away Sunday morning, January 27, 2019, at his sister’s home with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born April 2, 1948, in Youngstown, the son of John and Jeanne (Williams) Zelinka.
Bob graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1966, and was a lifelong area resident. After graduation, he completed an apprenticeship and became a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396 from which he retired in 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Zelinka, of New Middletown; two sisters, Rebecca (Russ) Snyder of Poland and Suzanne (Larry) Verzilli of New Middletown; two daughters, Lisa Suchora of Boardman and Amy Connolly of Austintown; four granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Bobby "Z" Zelinka.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 31, from 4:00 to 5:00 at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, with funeral services to follow with Pastor Dan Tayman officiating.
Special thanks is extended to Bob’s sister, Suzanne, and her husband, Larry, for the love and care given to Bob in the past year; his personal caregiver, Kaitlyn Sharpe, as well as Natasha Nadzam of Mercy Home Health and Dr. Faull, Dr. Padgitt and Dr. Cheng for the exceptional care and support they gave to Bob and his family.
