New Middletown - Robert E. "Bob" Venditti, 65, of New Middletown, died Friday morning, February 1, 2008 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Mr. Venditti was born June 19, 1942 in Youngstown, a son of Arthur E. and Stella L. Sikora Venditti. Bob was a 1960 graduate of New Wilmington High School and worked as a Conductor / Brakeman for Conrail, retiring in 1996 after 30 years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown and a member of the Bessemer Croatian Club. Bob loved hunting, fishing, gardening, NASCAR, and especially taking care of his yard. He also belonged to the UTU Railroad Transportation Union. He leaves his wife of 43 years, the former Maryann J. Morrison, whom he married July 11, 1964; one daughter, Lori (Tim) Deskin of New Middletown; one granddaughter, the joy of his life, Megan Deskin of New Middletown; and one sister, Donna (Ed) Swaneck of Poland. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church, 10857 Main Street, New Middletown, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Klinker officiating. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 10:00- 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
