STRUTHERS - Robert D. Tomko, Sr., 55 of Struthers, died Saturday morning at his residence, with his family by his side. Mr. Tomko was born Wednesday, September 24, 1952 in Youngstown, a son of Cyril & Dorothy Guyan Tomko. He was a life long area resident. He was a 1970 Graduate of Struthers High School, and he also attended Youngstown State University. Mr. Tomko was a driver /salesman and semi driver for 32 years for Pepsi, retiring May 1, 2005. After retirement he worked for the Frattaroli's Sparkle in New Middletown. He was President of the Holiday Bowling League in Struthers, he enjoyed playing golf and coaching baseball. His proudest moment was coaching his grandson, Daniel. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Susan Fabian, whom he married October 28, 1972. One daughter, Melissa (R.J.) Bishop of Struthers, two sons, Robert (Sara) Tomko, Jr. of Struthers, and Nicholas (Mary) Tomko of Boardman, six grandchildren, Madison Tomko, Robert D. Tomko, III., Gracie Bishop, Benjamin Bishop, Elizabeth Tatum, and Annetta Tatum, two sisters, Patty (George) Sabol of Struthers, and Barb Petrosky of Struthers; one brother, Stevie (Ellen) Tomko of Struthers and a sister-in-law, Wanda Tomko of Canfield. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by One brother Cyril Tomko. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6-9 pm at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers where a prayer service will be Wednesday at 9:30 am. Friends may also call one hour prior to the prayer service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge Street, Struthers with Rev. William Petrunak, officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John Cemetery, Lowellville. A special thanks to a special friend, Michelle Fabrizzi for all of her love and support.
