BOARDMAN- Robert "Bob" T. Skillman, 83, of Boardman passed away Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Bob was born in Youngstown on July 2, 1923, the son of Walter & Daisy Little- Skillman, He worked for Compco Industries as a Journeyman Machinist, retiring in 1988 after twelve years of service. He was a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church for more than fifty years, where he served as a Deacon and an Elder, and eagerly devoted his time to church publications. An avid golfer, he was a feared competitor throughout the area, and he would have liked to thank all his golf friends from whom he took their skin money. He golfed with the Youngstown District Amateurs, YMCA, his fellow coworkers at Compco, the Church Golf League and the Bishop Hughes Golf Tournament. Bob also perfected golf clubs of his own creation and did repair work for his friends. He realized the dream of every true golfer- attaining several holes-in-one and a double eagle. He loved to golf at Mill Creek Golf Course and had golfed all across the United States. His passion for the game was exceeded only by his commitment to his family. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, the former Lois Bonekamp, whom he married on June 23, 1945 at the Foster Memorial Presbyterian Church; three daughters, Kathleen Zarzycki of Boardman, Susan (Zane) Good of Boardman, Barbara (Bud) Perkins of East Palestine; one son, David (Linda) Skillman of Columbiana; two sisters, Marjorie Skillman-Maderas & Carolyn Skillman-Lucas both of Zephyrhills, FL; nine grandchildren, Shannon (Shawn) Metzler, Matthew Skillman, Joshua Good, Sarah (Dominic) Italiano, Amanda Good, Jessica Skillman, Nicole Zarzycki, Chloe Perkins, Margeaux Perkins; two great-grandchildren, Alexus Metzler and Hannah Metzler.
