Poland - Robert C. Prosser, 83, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House.

Robert, affectionately known as "Bob," was born November 30, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Charles and Margaret (Williams) Prosser.

Bob was a graduate of South High School, Class of 1958, and later in life, studied business at Youngstown College. After high school graduation, Bob served in the United States Army, until being honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class. Early in his career, Bob worked as a painter and as an assistant manager in the Men's Department at Strouss' Department Store. In 1966, he was hired at General Motors, where he worked the majority of his career as a supervisor in the Paint Department of the Truck Plant, retiring in 1993. Shortly after retiring from GM, Bob and his wife Kathy moved to Naples, Florida, where they enjoyed the sunshine for 22 years. While in Florida, Bob worked for Collier County Schools as a bus driver and later as a supervisor in the bus garage, before retiring again. In 2015, Bob and Kathy relocated back to Ohio.

Living in Beaver Township a good portion of his life, Bob valued serving his neighbors and giving back to the community. He worked as a part-time police officer for the township and served a four-year term as a Trustee, with his term ending in 1981. While a trustee, Bob was instrumental in helping form the Beaver Township Police Department.

Bob never sat too long and liked to keep busy as displayed by his strong work ethic. He was a member of the Argus Masonic Lodge and the Aut Mori Grotto and it's Clown Unit, where he was better known as "Puddles." When clowning around town at events and volunteering, Puddles showcased his talents juggling and making balloon animals.

Some of Bob's other favorite pastimes included golfing, a hobby he enjoyed with his wife and daughter Jodi, tending to his hobby farm, and riding his Harley in Florida, often sharing in rides with his son Brian. Bob also loved fishing and enjoyed his time on the water as co-captain of his friend's charter fishing boat in Ashtabula. For several years, Bob owned and operated, Propellers Unlimited in Columbiana, doing boat propeller repairs and sales. Dedicated to his family, Bob cherished family time and looked forward to taking two annual vacations, one filled with fun and the other educational.

Bob leaves a beautiful legacy of love for family, commitment to hard work, and generosity in serving others.

Bob is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Koeth, whom he married February 12, 1966; three children, Brian Prosser of Boardman, Robyn Prosser of Youngstown, and Jodi Prosser of Poland; two grandchildren, Kathleen and Andrew Prosser; and sister, Joan Parks of Willis, TX.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Marjory Miller.

There will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.

Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Bob's name to Animal Charity, 4140 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512, or Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514.
