Youngstown - Robert W. Noble Sr., 78, of Youngstown, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 14, 2018 at his residence.
Robert was born December 5, 1939 in Youngstown, OH, a son of John and Stella Stoops Noble.
Bob was raised in Coitsville and later in Struthers. An over the road truck driver Bob was a member of Teamsters Local 377 transporting groceries, steel, lumber, and furniture over the years. He learned the trade working for his father's trucking business and later worked for Santisi Trucking Company, Peter J. Schmidt Trucking Company and retired from Gold Star Industries in 2001 after 47 years of driving. Bob received numerous safety awards including the Million Mile award for his safe driving record. Bob had the incredible knowledge of the country's road maps and was able to tell anyone what routes to take to reach their road trip destination.
When not on the road, Bob enjoyed spending his time fishing and bowling. He loved working on and having in his possession, trucks and cars and he always enjoyed a ride on his motorcycles.
His wife, the former Judith L. Stilson, whom he married on February 13, 1965, died five months ago, on March 21, 2018. Bob leaves his children, Thomas P. (Sheri) Noble of Struthers and Tracene Noble of Youngstown; three brothers, Gerald (Debbie) Noble of Transfer, PA., James Noble of Youngstown and Larry (Alice) Noble of New Middletown; seven grandchildren, Deanna (Christopher) Pelo, Tabatha Noble, Robert Noble III, Tyler and Troy Noble, Zachary and Tonya Bryner; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert W Noble, Jr.; one brother, Alfred "Jack" Noble; and one great-granddaughter, Isabel.
A service celebrating Bob's life will be held Saturday, 11:00 am at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Pastor Douglas Theobald officiating.
Friends will be received Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
