Robert S. Mollis

Poland âa�" Robert S. Mollis, 77, of 2838 Coblentz Dr. died Friday, June 29, 2007 in Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Mollis was born May 25, 1930 in Niles, Ohio, a son of Stanley Mollis and Mary (Rohulich) Mollis. He worked as an Engineer for Conrail, retiring after 30 years. After retirement, he worked part time as a measure man for Prizantâa�a��s Carpet for 18 years. Mr. Mollis was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the US Coast Guard, on the USS Bittersweet for three years, and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Mollis is survived by his wife, the former Julie A. Surowiec, whom he married May 14, 1977, and two daughters, Kimberly (Martin) Brown of Albuquerque, NM, and Julie (William) Rinehart of Poland, six grandchildren Kevin, Melissa, Valeri and Meagan Purcell, William âa�A"Billyâa�A� and Madelyn Rinehart, great-grandchild Logan Teston, and brother George Mollis of Niles. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Russell, Joseph and Michael Mollis, and three sisters Mary Lokash, Anne Lipinski and Margie Czeck. In addition to loving and caring for his grandchildren, Bob enjoyed fishing and more recently golf. Throughout his life, he owned and cared for many animals. Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Monday, July 2 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3 at 9:30 am at the funeral home with a mass following at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown.
