Robert C. Massieâa�"68 STRUTHERSâa�"Robert C. Massie, 68, of 148 Creed St., formerly of Poland, died Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Massie was born on July 10, 1937 in Lawrence County, PA., a son of Raymond & Grace Ball Massie. He was a Crane Operator for LTV Steel, and was head of the Maintenance department at JC Penny Department Store, retiring in 2000. A 1955 graduate of Springfield Local High School; Veteran of the United States Navy, he attended the Struthers United Methodist Church, and was an avid fisherman. Besides his wife the former Clara Spitznagle whom he married June 21, 1958, he leaves a daughter Connie (Michael) Balaban of Holiday, Fl; a son Robert L. Massie of Struthers; two brothers, Raymond (Donna) Massie Jr.; Donald (Donna) Massie, both of Struthers; one sister, Loretta Vinkler of New Middletown; Five grandchildren, Laura, Nicole, Adam Balaban; Danielle and Lonna Massie, and two great-grandchild Tyler & Jacob Balaban. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest & Glenn Massie, and one sister Dorothy Rosenberger. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers where services will be held Monday at 10:30. Friends may call one hour prior.
