Robert Elden Marsh Sr

MARIETTA, GA. - Robert Elden Marsh Sr., 81, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home in Marietta.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally Grace.

Robert is survived by a son, Robert Jr. and daughter-in-law, Colleen; son John; daughter Cynthia and son-in-law John; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Robert graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, in Youngstown in 1947. Robert was married to Sally his high school sweetheart on March 25, 1950, at the Trinity UMC, Chapel of Friendly Bells.

He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Northwestern University and received an honorary doctorate of music degree from the Chicago Conservatory College. Robert was a retired professor Emeritus of musical performance (french horn) at Ball State University from 1953 to 1986.

The Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman will have a viewing on Monday, March 7, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a service immediately following at Lake Park Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Ash Welch will be officiating.

There will be a memorial service at the High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie, Ind. in the near future.
