Robert Allan Korby,75a Austintown- Robert Allan Korby, 75, died Saturday evening at Briarfield Manor. Mr. Korby was born in New Castle, PA April 8,1930 a son of John and Barbara Schmidt Korby. He gradated from Union High School and went on to graduate from Geneva with a BA in Education and English. He received his Masters Degree from Columbia University Mr. Korby was a high school English teacher at Bedford Central High School . From 1967-1977 he taught English in Africa and later returned to Bedford Central before retiring in 1994 after 42 years of teaching. He also taught adult classes teaching on how immigrants are to receive U.S. Citizenship. He was a member of the Teachers Union and loved traveling around the world. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He leaves two sisters, Barbara Cracraft of New Middletown and Helen Gilkey of West Mi ddlesex; a brother, Daniel Korby of Lowellville; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Jack, John Jr., Charles, James, and Andrew Korby; and a sister, Grace Korby. A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday May 27, 2006 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral in Lowellville.
