Boardman - Robert Jones, 91, died December 28, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.
Mr. Jones was born May 20, 1923 in Youngstown, a son of Adam and Marie Sereg Jones.
He was a 1941 Austintown Fitch High School graduate. Robert worked as a brick layer for Local 8 and later worked for Boardman Township.
He coached Boardman Little League and was an avid sports fan.
He was a member of Boardman United Methodist and was a F & AM Mason Sulgrave Lodge 696 for 50 years, where he was 32nd Degree Scottish Rite.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII, where he received a Bronze Star.
He is survived by two brothers, Thomas R. Jones of Austintown and John Paul (Sandy) Jones of Austintown; six grandchildren, Amy Thayer, Megan Osa, Michael Jones, Jonathan Jones, Daniel Jones, and Robert Jones; five great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Iwilla (Little); two sons, Robert John Jones and Larry M. Jones; one brother, Edward Jones; one sister, Norma Saffron; and one grandson, Jonathan Jones.
There are no services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker, Boardman.
