Robert F. Johnston, 76 A graveside committal service for Robert Frederick Johnston, 76, will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Lowellville Cemetery. Mr. Johnston of 40874 Laredo Trail, Cherry Valley, California died June 8, 2004 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1927 in Lowellville a son of Frederick P. and Laura Jane Cearfoss Johnston. Mr. Johnston graduated from Lowellville High School in 1945 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific on Guam. Upon his discharge, he entered the University of Southern California, graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration. He worked for several large construction firms building government and military facilities. He retired in 1982 from the Fluor Company where he was the business manager, working the last nine years in Saudi Arabia. He returned to California upon retirement. He was a member of the Lowellville United Methodist Church, the Elks and was a volunteer teacherâa�a��s aid and tutor in the Cabazon Elementary School. Mr. Johnston leaves a sister, Shirley Baker with whom he made his home. Two sisters, Grace Grist and Mary Cornell are deceased. Material tributes may be made in the form of contributions in Mr. Johnstonâa�a��s name to the Lowellville United Methodist Church, 190 West Wood Street, Lowellville, OH 44436.
