Poland - Robert O. Holt, 85, of Poland, died Wednesday morning, October 4, 2012, at Northside Medical Center Valley Care.
Bob was born August 21, 1927 in Struthers, a son of Otis and Estella Unger Holt. He was raised in Struthers until the age of 12 when his family moved to Poland.
A1945 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy, and served at the end of World War II. After serving in the Navy Bob attended and graduated from the RCA Institute of NY in 1947. In 1948, Bob returned to the area was employed as a electrician technician for the Record Shop. He later purchased the Shop in 1984.
Bob leaves his wife of 62 years, the former Irene Posey, whom he married April 15, 1950; three daughters, Debra and husband Kevin Lodge of Boardman, Roberta and husband Said Assemi of Fresno, CA, and Virginia and husband Larry Gentile of Kent; one son, Douglas and wife Diane Holt of Canfield; one brother, John and wife Joan Holt of Medina; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Granger.
Bob's family has honored his wishes to not have calling hours or services.
