North Lima- Robert F. Tomalka, 76, of North Lima, died Tuesday morning at Caprice Health Care Center, after an extended illness. Mr. Tomalka was born May 22, 1925 in Elm Grove, WV, to John and Mary Morrison Tomalka. He was an area resident prior to joining the military, and returned to the area after his retirement. He was a veteran of both WW II, serving in the South Pacific, and the Korean Conflict. He served in the Army and retired from the U.S. Airforce in 1965, after 22 years of service. Mr. Tomalka also worked for both the Pepsi and RC Cola bottling companies, and permanently retired from Youngstown Tool and Die in 1996. Besides his wife the former Suzanne Brownlee whom he married October 18, 1971, he leaves two daughters: Heidi Tomalka of Franklin Square; Robin (Pete) Sarver of New Waterford; one son: William R. Tomalka of North Lima; two sisters: Mary Cameron of Youngstown; Frances Garrett of Mineral Ridge; two brothers: Paul of Boardman ; Charles of Illinois; 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Borbski; Helen Egley; and three brothers: Vincent who was killed in Vietnam; Joe and John, Jr. A Funeral Service will be held 1PM, Thursday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
