Robert Elden Marsh, Sr., 81 died peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his home in Marietta, GA. Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Sally Grace. Robert is survived by a son, Robert, Jr. and daughter in law, Colleen: son, John: daughter, Cynthia and son in law, John: 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
Robert graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, in Youngstown in 1947. Robert was married to Sally his high school sweetheart on March 25, 1950 at Trinity UMC, Chapel of Friendly Bells. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Northwestern University and received an honorary doctorate of music degree from the Chicago Conservatory College. Robert is a retired professor Emeritus of musical performance (french horn) at Ball State University from 1953-1986.
Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman will have a viewing on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 1-2:00pm, with a service immediately following at the Lake Park Cemetery Chapel. Rev. Ash Welch will be officiating. There will be a Memorial Service at High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie, IN in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be made in the memory of Robert to: the Max Pottag-Marsh-Ehnes Memorial Scholarship #5758, Ball State University Foundation, PO Box 672, Muncie, IN 47308.
