Boardman - Robert E. Davis, 60, of Boardman died Friday afternoon of a motorcycle accident.
Bob was born February 6, 1949 in Youngstown, son of Harold and Anna Ellis Davis.
He was a 1967 graduate of East Palestine High School and was a truck driver for B&T Express. Bob served in the United States Army serving in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a life member and Past Post Commander of the New Springfield VFW Post #2799. He also served as Mahoning County Commander. For over 17 years Bob was very active in the local Alcoholics Anomynous.
Bob was an avid sports fan, he loved following Springfield Local, Youngstown State and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves two sons, Robert R. (Brenna) Davis of East Palestine and Blaine Davis of Boardman; one daughter, Betsy M. (Dallas) Burns of Boardman; three sisters, Barbara Brown of New Springfield, Shirley Dunnegan of Austintown, and Norma Jean Gillivan of NC; three brothers, William H. Davis of North Lima, Walter L Davis of New Springfield, and Thomas E. (Sophie) Davis of Austintown; his uncle, Jack Ellis of Hubbard; his companion, June Johnson of Austintown; and his six grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Davis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home where the New Springfield VFW Post #2799 will be conducting a service.
