Robert Keith Canton, 80
Canfield: Robert Keith Canton, 80, formerly of South Lincoln Avenue in Salem, passed away Tuesday morning, February 26, 2019 at Mercy Health-St. Elizabeth Health Center with his loving family by his side.
Robert, known by his family and friends as "Bob" was born August 3, 1938 in East Liverpool, the son of the late James and Helen Canton.
He graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1957.
Bob worked as a Produce Manager for Thorofare Super Market in Salem for over 20 years and later, for Worthington Custom Plastic, before retiring.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Salem, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1818. Bob was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians & Cleveland Browns and a model railroad trains hobbyist. He enjoyed going to and participating in Classic Car Shows, camping with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Scott) Taylor of Poland; two grandchildren, Corey Taylor of Irving, TX. and Alicia Taylor of Mount Pleasant, SC; a brother, Jack (Debbie) Canton of Massillon; his sister, Ruth Keys of East Liverpool and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Canton and his sister-in-law, Emma, a sister, Marti Vanderberg, and his brother-in-law, Ronald Keys.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12 noon at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street in Boardman with Fr. Bob Edwards officiating.
Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:45 at the funeral home, with services to follow.
Bob was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to all. He will be deeply missed.
