Robert "Bob" L. Bindas
December 14, 1935 — July 28, 2015
Poland - Robert "Bob" L. Bindas, 79, formerly of Niles, passed away, Tuesday evening, July 28, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Bindas, affectionately known as "Bob," was born December 14, 1935 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Susan Sich Bindas.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Youngstown State University. Mr. Bindas moved to the state of Delaware in the 1960's when accepting an accounting job with DuPont Chemical. He worked their several years until moving back to the Youngstown area to work for Packard Electric. Mr. Bindas worked for Packard Electric for many years in the accounting department until his retirement.
Mr. Bindas served in the United States Army Reserves.
He was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church and the National Slovak Society Lodge #PO9A, where he was currently serving as the President of the Youngstown Chapter. In his free time, he enjoyed going on bus trips and cheering for all the professional Cleveland sports teams.
He is survived by his three sisters, Margaret DePillo of Boardman, Dorothy Badnarik of Poland, and Betty DeArcangelis of Youngstown; six nieces, Georgette Kollay, Margaret Jo (Jim) Naples, Kathy Willig, Louise (Frank) Rulli, Trudy Farbman, and Carole Ann Price; five nephews, Michael DeArcangelis, Joseph DeArcangelis, Michael (Patricia) Bindas, George (Joan) Babinchak, and John (Elaine) Babinchak; and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Bindas and infant John Bindas; and two sisters, Ann Babinchak and Susan Bindas.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Rd., with Pastor Kristin Stroble. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
The family requests that any memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mr. Bindas' name to the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1951 Mathews Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
