Robert Lee Best

Youngstown - Robert Lee Best, 63, died January 30, 2018 at his residence. Robert was born July 11, 1954 in Youngstown, a son of Norman and Harriett Hanlon Best.

He was a 1973 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and retired as a Supervisor for Ram Plastics in 2014.

He loved Jesus and was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Boardman.

Robert was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed dancing, bowling, gardening, helping others, and watching his grandchildren play sports.

His wife, Maryellen, whom he married Aug. 10, 1974, died in 2010.

He is survived by two daughters, Shannon (Hector) Pagan of Youngstown and Rebecca (Thomas) Cole of Struthers; son, Brian (Brooke) Best of Youngstown; four brothers, Norman (Barbara) Best of Kileen, TX, David Best of Ellsworth, James (Patty) Best of Forest Grove, Montana, and Paul (Trisha) Best of San Antonio, TX; sister, Sissy (Kenneth) Norris of Youngstown; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert Best Jr.; a great-grandchild, Gia; brother, Dennis Best; and sister-in-law, Patti Sue Best.

Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 11:00 a.m. Christian Assembly Church, 5050 South Avenue, Boardman. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, Feb. 5 from 4-7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers and Tuesday, Feb 6 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
