Rita J. Eckman

Lowellville - Rita J. Eckman, 85, passed away on August 10, 2024 at the Hospice House in Poland.

She was born May 29, 1939 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Stephen and Olga (Hordiewicz) Huzicko. She graduated from Struthers High School and then continued her education at the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing. She earned her LPN and worked for Youngstown Osteopathic.

Rita was a good cook, her specialty being stuffed cabbage. She enjoyed flowers, getting her hair done, and spending time at their lake house. She also liked to do ceramics, and loved and appreciated her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Dale Eckman; her sons, Brian (Shelley) Eckman of Lowellville and David Eckman of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Casey, Erin (Andrew Woodward), Courtney (Tyler Dugan), Lauren (Christopher Dechellis), Alex (Trevor Motsko), Bailey (Nathan Richards), and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Cru, Cambry, Anthony, Joey, Vivian, Tripp, Patrick, and Adrian; brother, Stephen (Sue) Huzicko of Worthington; and sister, Paula (David) Causer of North Lima.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Andra Lynn Holby.

In accordance with Rita's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
