Richard A. Kidd, Rich Kidd age 72, of Estero, Florida and Austintown, Ohio, entered into Heaven, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife Jackie and lifelong friend Ty Tyree.
Rich was born January 5, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of John (Jack) and Beatrice Auntst Kidd.
Raised in Austintown, Rich was a 1963 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Upon graduation he attended Youngstown State University until August 22, 1967 when he was hired at General Motors Lordstown Assembly Plant.
Rich began his working career with General Motors as an assembler on the production line, then promoted Senior Clerk then to the Suggestion Plan Supervisor.
In October 1971, Rich was promoted to Labor Relations then in April 1980 he advanced to Supervisor of Labor Relations. He built a strong relationship with the Local #1112 Union Officials along with the Salary and Hourly work force.
In 1992, Rich left Labor Relations and joined the Material Department as a Floor Supervisor, and then Senior Advisor of Material Control where he finished out his working career after 39 years of service with General Motors.
In his early years he enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball team. He furthermore loved the game of golf having 2 Hole-In-Ones and took pride in teaching his grandsons, Tyler and Chad how to play the game and enjoying many summers with them on the golf course. Retirement was not over for Rich, in October 2006, he relocated to Fort Myers, Fl where he landed his dream job working 10 years in the Pro Shop at Olde Hickory Golf and Country Club.
Rich leaves Jackie Klein, his love and rock for 22 years; three daughters, Kristen Kidd of Austintown, OH, Heidi (Ken) Sympson of North Lima, OH, and Dr. Richelle (Chris) Keleman of Columbiana, OH; two stepdaughters, Michele (Richard) Cuellar of Humble, TX and Jayme (Jim Waschak) Klein of Seattle, WA; three grandsons, Ryan and Justin Sympson, and Colin Keleman; two stepgrandsons, Tyler and Chad Cook; two brothers, Jack (Vicki) Kidd and Scott (Linda) Kidd all of Austintown, OH; one sister, Linda (Jim Bucher) Kidd of Bowling Green, OH; one stepsister, Cathy Stigliano of Youngstown, OH; four brothers-in-law, Terry (Marianne) Sutton of Ocala FL, Bob (Ruthann) Sutton of Austintown, OH, Ken (Diane Vranich) Sutton of Hermitage, PA, and Jim (Pam) Sutton of Austintown, OH; one sister-in-law, Jane Sutton of Austintown, OH; and extended family, Pat and Paul Klein.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by two stepbrothers, Gene and Dale Szallai.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Austintown with Father Edward Brienz officiating.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman, and Monday, one hour before the service at the church.
