Richard Paul Way, 73

Poland - Richard Paul Way, 73, passed away Tuesday evening, October 26, 2021, at Washington Square Health Care in Warren surrounded by his loving wife and devoted brother.

Richard was born December 22, 1947 in Youngstown, the son of the late Clifford and Anna (Hess) Way.

He graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1966 and was a lifelong area resident.

After graduating from high school, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.

Richard worked for Aqua Ohio for over 30 years, retiring as the chief plant mechanic.

He enjoyed watching auto racing, especially NASCAR, restoring cars, going to the shooting range, and fishing.

Richard was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and a friend to all.

Richard is survived by his wife of 47  years, the former Joanna M. DelFraino whom he married on May 24, 1974;  a brother, James (Diane) Way; and a sister-in-law, Bonny Way, both of Poland; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, David Way.

Per Richard's request, private funeral services were held at Poland Riverside Cemetery Chapel on Monday, November 1, 2021 with Reverend Brian Ethridge officiating.  Full military honors were conducted by the U.S. Air Force.

Arrangements were handled by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street in Poland.
