Richard W. Ricciardi, 73
New Middletown: Richard W. Ricciardi, 73, passed away Wednesday evening, August 21, 2019 at Caprice Health Center with his loving family by his side.
Richard was born October 16, 1945 in Youngstown, the son of the late Vincent and Anne (Reto) Ricciardi.
He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1963 and attended Youngstown State University. He was an Air Force veteran and served during the Vietnam War.
Richard was a appliance salesman and worked for several appliance stores in the area.
He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown, where he served as a Lector and Eucharist minister. Richard was a former member of the New Middletown Lions Club and a lifelong area resident.
Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Janet L. Camp, whom he married on July 29, 1972; four daughters, Stacy L. Siegel of Gahanna, OH, Heather A. Ricciardi of New Middletown, Amanda M. (Steven) Mansour of Canfield, and Ashley M. (Josh) Domeyer of Madison, WI; a sister, Carol (Richard) Grimm of Columbus and a brother, Daniel (Phyllis) Ricciardi of Cincinnati; and three grandchildren, Benjamin Siegel, Vincent Siegel, Evan Mansour.
Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Siegel.
There will be a memorial Mass on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street in New Middletown with Fr. Steve Zeigler officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, with services to follow. Interment will be held later at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Fraxa Research Foundation, www.fraxa.org in memory of Richard.
Richard enjoyed playing golf and attending his children and grandchildren sporting events. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Richard will be missed by his family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street in Poland.
