Richard C. Olson

Youngstown - Richard C. Olson, 93, of Youngstown, died Sunday, October 7, 2007. Mr. Olson was born November 17, 1913 in Horotio, PA, a son of John and Anna Johnson Olson. He was a life long area resident. Mr. Olson worked as a finisher in the conduit department of Youngstown Sheet & Tube for 40 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of AARP and loved fishing and the outdoors. Mr. Olson's wife, the former Eleanor Burnham, whom he married December 14, 1937, died September 7, 2003. He leaves two daughters, Sandra Symmonds of Phoenix, AZ and Gail Morse of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Larry Olson of Girard; a sister, Margaret Zurrow of Struthers; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Olson was preceded in death by his son, Charles Olson; six brothers, Albert, Harry, Harold, Arthur, Gus, and Ted Olson; a sister, Ophelia Hollenberry; and one granddaughter. There are no calling hours or services. Interment will be in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
