New Middletown - Richard Malcom Montague, 91, of New Middletown, formerly of Poland, died Monday evening, November 30, 2015 at Masternick Memorial.
Richard was born August 14, 1924 in Bucyrus, OH, a son of Clyde and Estella Kraft Montague.
He attended Poland Seminary High School until 1943 when he enlisted in the United States Army during World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
Richard was a self employed carpenter. Previously, he worked for the Ohio Carpenters Union. Richard loved music and ballroom dancing. A car enthusiast, Richard enjoyed buying and trading cars and attending car shows.
He leaves two sons, Thomas (Carol) Montague of Stockbridge, GA, and Ted (Sandy) Montague of Poland; one daughter, Mariellen (Pat) Fleming of De Beary, FL; five grandchildren, Zachary Montague, Kellen Fleming, Melody, Brittany and Lindsay Montague; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Oliver Williams, and Willow Tul.
There are no calling hours or funeral services. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
