Boardman- Richard E. Hardman passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Health Center following surgery.

He was born July 24, 1934 in Sardis, West Virginia, the son of the late Earl F. and Harriet (Linville) Hardman. He moved to Youngstown in 1952.

He was employed for 44 years as a crane operator at Youngstown Steel Door and retired in 1999.

Richard will be remembered as a man whose kindness toward others and love of his Family sparkled always in his bright blue eyes.

He will be sadly missed and remembered by many, including his sister Lola Ryan of Bridgeport, West Virginia; his brother Frank D. (Martha) Hardman of Hubbard; so many nieces and nephews and dear Friends; his beloved Italian greyhound, Sophie; and all those who were fortunate enough to be blessed by his kindness, generosity and love.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Okey Thomas Hardman and his sisters, Bell Marie McCarty, Zelma Lee Smith , and Bertie Lou Moore. He was also preceded in death by his beloved Italian greyhound, Tella.

Richard will return to West Virginia where services will be held at a later time at Sardis Cemetery in West Virginia.

Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
